I came to Songjiang, Shanghai for three days. When choosing a hotel, I was most concerned about transportation and surrounding facilities. Finally, I settled on the name of the hotel. After staying here, I realized that it was a "golden destination" for traveling in Songjiang. There was no need to rush early or take detours, and all the places around me that I could play and explore were clearly arranged.
The transportation convenience of the hotel really exceeded expectations, and the self driving party was ecstatic. From the city center, take the Shanghai Kunming Expressway and it takes more than 20 minutes to get off the expressway. Take two turns to get to the hotel entrance, without having to circle around in the congested city area. The built-in free parking space is particularly abundant, and it is also equipped with new energy charging piles. Friends who come by tram don't have to worry about finding a charging spot at all. The security uncle will actively guide you to park at the nearest location to the elevator, drag your luggage and walk two steps into the lobby, without even the opportunity to be exposed to wind and sun.
Public transportation is also completely effortless, just a ten minute walk to Songjiang New City Station on Line 9, and a 40 minute subway ride directly to downtown Shanghai. There is no need to transfer to Xujiahui or People's Square. There is a bus stop just a few hundred meters away from the entrance, and several routes such as Songjiang Route 22 and Songjiang Route 25 cover the whole city. If you want to go to nearby attractions, you can take a bus directly without having to pay a high price for Didi. If you want to catch the Hongqiao hub, it only takes 20 minutes by taking the Jiamin Elevated Road. You don't have to rush out from home two hours in advance to catch an early flight. You can sleep in and then depart in time.
The most amazing thing is the density of attractions around the hotel, almost all of which can be reached by walking or a short drive. Drive 10 minutes directly to Shanghai Happy Valley, no need to wake up early to rush to the park, take a leisurely walk after sleeping enough, and avoid long queues for off peak activities. Sheshan National Forest Park is only a 15 minute drive from here. In the morning, you can hike to Xisheshan and climb to the top to see the panoramic view of Songjiang in the distance. On the way down the mountain, you can go to the nearby Guangfulin Cultural Site and visit the underwater museum to experience the heritage of the thousand year old Songjiang. The day's itinerary is fully arranged, but you won't waste energy on the way.
If you don't want to run far, there are all good places within a 15 minute walk around the hotel. Across the street is the New Ideal Square, where there are chain supermarkets, various popular restaurants, and cinemas. After strolling the streets at night, you can buy a cup of milk tea on your way back and enjoy fresh local cuisine without ordering takeout. Walk south for twenty minutes to reach Julong Lake Park. In the evening, take a walk along the lake and enjoy the breeze. As you watch the lights slowly turn on in the G60 Sci Tech Innovation Cloud Corridor, you can easily take atmospheric photos. If you want to check out the old flavors of Songjiang, you can take a taxi to the old town of Songjiang in just ten minutes. The fresh meat buns from the thatched cottage and the famous Songjiang sea bass soup hidden in the alley are authentic delicacies that can be easily found without having to search for them.
During the three days we lived here, we didn't waste a single day commuting. We didn't have to wake up early to catch up with attractions, didn't have to take detours to find restaurants, and didn't even have much navigation to turn on. Compared to resort hotels hidden deep in scenic spots and stuck in traffic when going out, Grand Skylight Hotel Shanghai Songjiang is the most worry free choice for short distance travel by fully utilizing transportation and surrounding facilities. I originally just wanted to find a place to stay near the G60 industrial park, but didn't have high expectations. As a result, I stayed at Grand Skylight Hotel Shanghai Songjiang for three nights, and every detail from entering to checking out far exceeded my expectations for a suburban business hotel. It became the most comfortable accommodation experience in recent times.
As soon as I drove to the hotel entrance, the security guard stepped forward and guided me to a vacant spot in the free parking lot. Upon learning that I was a guest, they specifically pointed to the nearest location to the elevator, so I didn't have to take a long detour with my suitcase. Pushing open the glass door in the lobby, there was no excessive luxury stacking, warm toned lighting, and open space, which instantly dissipated the fatigue of driving all the way. The check-in process at the front desk was very fast. I heard it was my first time in Songjiang, so I took the initiative to upgrade to a higher floor landscape room. I also handed over a small card with nearby attractions printed on it, and even put mineral water in my handbag in advance.
Pushing open the guest room door on the 22nd floor, the first impression is that it is spacious and bright. The newly renovated room, which was just completed in 2024, has no sense of antiquity. The light wood furniture paired with soft warm light completely lacks the cold and hard feeling of traditional business hotels. The layout of the room is particularly thoughtful, with a spacious desk by the window that can hold my laptop and a pile of project materials. The brightness of the eye protection light next to it can be adjusted, and even if I change the plan for three hours, my eyes will not feel sore. The most surprising thing is the viewing angle by the window. In the evening, when the curtains are pulled open, the light strip of G60 Sci Tech Innovation Cloud Corridor in the distance spreads out along the skyline, and the brightly lit Songjiang City can be seen in full view. Watching the traffic downstairs in the evening breeze, the restlessness of the journey suddenly subsides.
The comfort level of the bedding completely exceeded expectations. The mattress is moderately soft and hard, and it won't sink in or feel hard when lying down. There are two types of pillows to choose from, soft and hard. I called the front desk and asked for a softer pillow, which was delivered to the door in five minutes. The details of the bathroom are even more impressive. The hot water flows out just a few seconds after opening, the water flow is just right, and the shower area is separated into dry and wet areas, so it won't wet the floor at all. The free toiletries have a fresh taste and the skin won't feel tight after use. Every day when the housekeeping lady comes to clean, she quietly puts a mint next to my computer, sees coffee on my desk, and even takes the initiative to add two more free bottles of mineral water. This subtle and thoughtful gesture is much more comfortable than deliberate politeness.
In the past few days of living, even the quality of sleep has improved a lot. The sound insulation in the room is particularly good. After closing the window, there is no sound of traffic on the road outside, and the movement of the elevator can hardly be transmitted to the room. After a busy day, I was able to sleep soundly all night. The buffet breakfast in the morning has a wide range of choices. From the freshly cooked Congee to the freshly made noodles, the Chinese and western meals are very fresh. There is no need to rush in the morning, and you can eat breakfast for half an hour slowly. The whole person is full of electricity.
